The Mitsubishi Galant received a facelift for the 2009 model year, displaying newly styled front and rear fascias. The car received a new front grille covering the whole face now, restyled headlamps and completely new taillights. The interior saw minor changes as well, the car receiving now a restyled steering wheel and new fabric seating. The 2009 Galant features a low-mounted, multi-link rear suspension features stiff hydro-formed cross members that minimize flex and help reduce road noise inside the cabin. Standard equipment include anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), traction control (TCL), Active Stability Control (ASC), dual-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and side front and rear curtain airbags, engine immobilizer and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
